I have downloaded a couple of .mp4 vidcast files but only the sound works when played on my p910i, i think they are encoded to work on ipods and PSP's. Is there a way to convert the mp4 to be compatible with the SE handset and what are the settings?
Thanks

You could always use a screen recorder with the sound capture turned on too, then it could be converted like any other avi or mpeg file...

Hey Sussex Boyi, theres really no point in converting those files. You need to get hold of the source files and convert them to smartmovie format for them to work nicely to your P910i. RJB & Chemos are doing an excellent job in the video thread mate, excellent job...
On a separate note, where abouts in Sussex u from....im from Haywards Heath...U?

Hey thanks for the reply, im based near to Brighton.
With these pod casts, surely its possible to take the mp4 file and run it through a converter of some sort, I just need to find out what the compression settings are??

ryanmachin - thanks heaps.
The vidcasts im referring to are hosted here:

there released every two weeks, so would be nice to have on the P910i for the train journey
Cheers.

I got this to run through mpegable last night and all was going well until about a minute into it when the encoding started to slow down but it got there in the end. However, when i played it back on the PC it started up fine, no problems with video or sound until after about 40 secs or so when the sound completely cut out and video stopped! I'll give it another try tonight as theres no reason why it cant encode the whole thing.
Ive never encoded anything for the P series before, so i just stuck to the standard resolution of 176x144 which i use for my W800, but this will be fine for playback on a P910i anyway... Unless anyone can advise me what resolution is best for playback on P910?
