If u change the cover and flash it with w fw, u have a w8, thats it. The hw is the same in k and d 750, same at w8. This message was posted from a Nokia

I'm currently using a W800i that was a K750i in a former life! It's a bit of a hybrid though, has the W800i chassis and firmware, but a K750i front and back casing!

It wasn't done by myself, but it is certainly possible for it to be done. In fact, if I stuck a W800i facia on it it would be identical to a W800i. The only difference I believe would be the internal memory (K750i has 32Mb, W800i has 38Mb).

as far as i can tell....................... the only reasons for flashing the 750 to 800 is for the different music player and the flight mode?

If i,m wrong....please correct me. Every thread i seem to see now about flashing seems to cause more prob,s than its worth?

Anyway....mines a D750 and works spot on so far. I,m getting a w800 as a free upgrade on T-Mobile so i will let things be as they are ( if that makes sense)

Flashing a phone with new software can be tricky- i tend to avoid anything to do with software as u can kill the phone! If ur not sure what ur doing get someone else to do it for u!

anything to do with software is not bad because it can always be recovered.

Bare in mind, however, that flashing to a W800i will remove the Activity menu. A very handy feature in my mind.

Activity menu? Do you mean the Shortcut Menu? That can be accessed by pushing the joystick up in standby mode- but i guess the downside is that you can't access the list of shortcuts whilst in any other menu.
