I've searched for this but I can't find anything on it to my surprise.

My Mum has just changed from a Z600 to a W550i, so to help here I have been trying to transfer the contacts and files across. My PC was already setup for my own P900 and K700 so it was no problem to get the Z600 synced. However, the software did not recognise the W550i so I assumed I needed newer software, off to the SE site and downloaded it.

However, it's giving me a lot of grief installiong (four hours so far...), it complained about SE entires in the registry so I ended up deleting them all, it stopped complaining then but now it's moaning about dlls in the mobile phone monitor:

"Error 1904.Module C:\program files\sony ericsson\Mobile2\mobile phone monitor\ms98irsock_object.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel"

It continues to do so, even if I remove all the entries from that folder. I thought some of the existing SE software might be conflicting so I also removed all that but no difference. I've also tried a downloaded version and the cd version that came with the phone (both the same version).

I've given up for now, I'm a bit disappointed as I've always been impressed with how quickly and easily I've been able to install and sync between phones. Does anyone have any suggestions, either to fix this problem or an alternative to sync with outlook and put the files back?
