I downloaded the k700 webcam software and it works with the w800i. I got it from http://k700.hitziger.net/
First I had to change the language to english from german, then select the w800 from the menu, setup the required options and presto!

Frubin,

So you have not yet clicked on the Options button? Take a look at the settings after you click:

Be sure to select the same option, Save to Phone memory or Save to Memory Stick, both on your mobile as well as on K700 Webcam settings.

Personally I consider this software quite worthless as long it forces the camera to make "+2" exposures, that means the sensor gets 400% light compared what the automatic exposure would give in normal photo taking. Erroneously Thomas Hitziger is discussing about correction of White balance while the real problem is Exposure correction.

As you're about taking the first test photos just watch the camera view and as the shutter opens see how the figures on the left run from 0.0 to +2.0!

I have written several posts on Hitziger's Webcam forum, just take alook and as further questions there. One day he might answer them - I hope:

@ Mark_Q: Hummm... i set it as shown (with no FTP) and got it working but i cant see a picture nor does it take a picture I keep getting the message on the last result: "Cannot read from your mobile directory". I've noticed i can only access my phone's memory not my memory stick when it is connected through the USB cable and have set it to phone memory/pictures/camera/100MDSCF. I've tried everything but still can't get it working. What am i doing wrong?

@ Frubin,

Do you have your COM-port settings in working order. Hitziger has another freeware, SetupCOM to help in this task. Because there is very little help documentation I made a page with step-by-step screenshots:

http://tinyurl.com/l2fce

The moment you'd succeed with K700 Webcam you'll find the captured photo in the very same folder where you installed the program. It's called recent.jpg. This will be replaced by later shots. The back-up photos do get their file names as year-month-day-hour-minute-second, like 200602234815.jpg. The uploaded photo on the FTP server will also be recent.jpg.

So you prefer USB connection? Why not Bluetooth? Haven't the dongle maybe?

And you are sure your mobile camera settings have Phone memory selected too as "Save to" choice?

@ Xugaa,

As far I know, no msn messenger option possible.
