@loius85 - Bugs I did not experience ANY when I had my K750i then (1.5 months of use) . . . Were you able to get your hands on a K700i back then mate? I mean the very 1st RELEASE? I know some day that you'll be getting 'still' a fone model mate . . . Good Luck with your Nokia 8310 dude!

@trance, what bugs have you heard in the Qtek 8310? as I'm just about to get the i-mate SP5 variant of that phone and haven't yet heard much that people are complaining about?

well it's a wm phone Only jockin' , however in my experience mobile like the xdaII have quite a few bugs such as system lock ups, etc. If my K750 locked up as much as my xdaII I'd have taken it back a long time ago. Phone integration was a bit dodgy at times. To be fair though, I don't have a huge amount of experience with wm hardware.

However my only real gripe with wm is the way memory contents are not permanent. To my way of thinking you should be able to put your phone in the draw and come back to it 6 months later, charge the battery, and find your pics, mp3, software etc still there. The fact the pocketpc's lose all memory contents when battery is dead is not a bug, but a design flaw.

For that reason, I am eagerly awaiting P990 or smaller hardscreen uiq3 device, rather than look at the wm5 options. Still, I'm keeping my eyes on wm5, it's hard for a windows tech like myself to overlook completely.

well, if thats your "only real gripe" then you should now be happy.

The windows mobile 5 standard requires the device to have non volatile memory so devices such as the k-jam, jasjar and the qtek 8310/i-mate SP5 being discussed here, will not lose their contents when the battery goes flat

so, when will you be getting yours now that this has been resolved?

Cool! Well yes that is a major impediment removed. I had no idea wm5 had resolved that. Thanks for the info.

I do realise stability issues in wm5 have been resolved, but having only ever played with pocketpc's I've missed some of the wm5 developments.

I'm still interested in the P990, however I am going to have a MUCH closer look at wm5 now, thanks. I could see a WM5 hard screen candybar replace my K750 in due course (as my everyday phone).

Not that I'm unhappy with the K750. I've had no bugs (though have stayed on R1L) and am VERY happy with it and won't change for 6-12months atleast.
