This is the fourth time my phone has messed up! To be fair the last three were random - I never dropped it etc.

This time, however, lets suppose, hyperthetically of course , that I... errm.. let my W800i take a nasty crash onto a hard floor from *cough* 6ft *cough* up. Yes...

Is this then why after trying everything - update, reboot, reset - that the camera just WILL NOT WORK?

You click on the icon, or open the shutter and it just freezes for a split second and shoots you back to the main menu.

New W800i time?

if there are no marks on the phone& if u still have a valid warranty then go 2 an SE center&blame them for the phone's malfunctioning.

yes i had the same problem with the cam. but the phone didnt drop.
there is a part (forgot the exact name) which has been ejected out. give it to the service guys and they will push it back in. not a major prob

If you dropped it, the small cable connecting the cam to the pcb could have simply loosened.

Just what I was going to suggest, I bet it's something to do with the cable to the camera, just probably needs putting back in or repositioning
