When you save the file change the 'Save as type' to All Files.
This will prevent it from saving the file with the .txt suffix.

Not sure that u can use Word at all, since it includes format information in it's text file (unless u save it as plain text of course). It would be much easier to use notepad, choose 'save as...' type 'mysong.imy' and make sure that the file type is 'all files' (the drop-down box below).

recommend u use Notepad or Wordpad.....on initial use, if u save as filename.imy, the file will appear as filename.imy.txt
to rectify this problem, simply right click on the file (from Windows Explorer) then select rename....u then just delete the .txt and click YES when the system prompts u "Are You Sure as the File May No Longer Be Usable" or some similar warning.
the other method is for u to double (or single click) on the imy file and a window will open asking to confirm what program to use when opening files with the imy extension. Select Notepad or Wordpad (u can only select one) from the list and remember to haf the "Always use this program to open files with this extension" option checked. This way, u can save future files with the imy extension and u won't haf the problem anymore.
hope this helps...cheers!!
