For W550 and W900-Is it possible? Doesn't it cost extremely so much bucks to download that 10-70 MB update files? Or am I wrong with this? Or is it only a link to get info about the current F/W? Can my K750 be updated this way?

You can't upgrade the firmware on any phone AFAIK by any other means than cable.
The firmware completely replaces the phones operating system, which means the operating system can't be running while it is being replaced. If the OS isn't running then the phone can't be used and a GPRS (or any other wireless) connection isn't possible.

Yeah you go to 'Settings' then under the 'General' tab choose 'Update service' then you press 'Search for update'
I can never get this to work though, it tries to connect but then I get this error message: 'Device mgmt. Sony Ericsson Invalid server responze'
Anyone know why this is?

The new SE Handset.... Like the W550i and W900i have a feature under setting which allow you to update your firmware. Ive never actually done 1 as everytime I have tried to always tells me that I am upto date. Its feature there. If you require more information I would suggest you ask someone who has been able to update sucessfully.
Hope this helps
Cheers

The update procedure doesn't involve full firmware downloading as with cable update. It's just a delta between two firmwares that is downloaded and patched in.
Therefore it wont be very much data to download.

Apologies for the mis-information. I searched both the consumer and developer sections of the Sony Ericsson site and couldn't find any documentation on this service, its abilities, or limitations. All I can find is the following reference in the white papers for the two phones mentioned:
Sony Ericsson Remote Update Service
Download the latest operator approved version
of the mobile phone software over the air.
