I enquired Sony Ericsson about they having an Opera version *above* the Opera site (6.32 vs 6.31) and they answered that Opera on Sony Ericsson site is fine-tuned for the P series.
One of the main differences it that uses up less memory.

So, I recommend you don't install Opera from the Opera site.

Instead use the one distributed by Sony Ericsson:
