does anyone know if it is possible to create a playlist on a pc and then transfer it to the phone to use?

basically, does anyone know if the phone uses a regular playlist file extension or whether SE use their own?

Cheers for any help!

Pretty sure it's proprietry. It doesn't seem to understand what a .M3U file is which is pretty much the most common type of playlist file.

It's annoying, as I can't see any way of getting songs to play in order other than by creating playlists. The sort options pay no attention to the fact that the filenames start with the track number, or to the track number in the ID3 tag.

Maybe in a firmware update...

yeah i know i tried the same....its so annoying sifting thru 2gb of music using the phone navi-keys and the basic sorting...ive emailed sony the question about 2 weeks ago but i havent got anything back.

an idea i had was to try and find the saved playlist file on the phone memory and find the file type, but ive had no luck in locating the saved playlist file....anyone tried this?

I believe it's an xml file in the phones user-inaccessible memory, so you won't find it without something like SETOOL.

do you reckon we would also have to place the xml file in this directory? or could we just create an xml playlist and put it on the ms pro duo/phone flash mem?

I'd be surprised if it was that simply. I'd expect you'd have to manually place the file in the correct location, which would involve the use of setool or similar again.
