In the US at least (not yet confirmed for the UK), Apple has bumped up the available processors speeds on the Mac Book Pro. You can also now upgrade the new 2.0Ghz Mac Book to a 2.16GHz Core Duo, for additional cash.
Existing orders have (apparently) been upgraded for free.
If you ordered 1.67 GHz you'll now get 1.83 GHz
If you ordered 1.83 GHz you'll now get 2.0 GHz
All MacBook Pro customers should receive an email reflecting this, according to the Apple Store phone menu prompt (in the US).
The UK Apple Store currently still shows the old processor speeds...
Here's the press release from Apple that says:
"All models of the new MacBook Pro will ship with faster Intel Core Duo processors than previously announced, delivering even greater performance at no additional cost."

Hmm to be honest i think they may i mean when i ordered my powerbook it was dispatched way before the actual due date, and with this it is saying will be dispatched latest by the 15th so maybe they will and that's why it ain't be posted already, would there be much difference from a 1.67ghz to 1.83ghz

I don't think you'd notice much difference in speed between a 1.6 and 1.8Ghz processor during normal usage (Internet, word processing etc).
Stuff like video editing, CAD and 3d rendering might happen quite a bit quicker, anything that involves lots of maths!

According to
this MacWorld UK article, all MacBooks will start shipping this week, and all of them will have the faster processors.
I guess a quick phonecall to the UK Apple Store wouldn't hurt?! (Or maybe you can check if your order has been changed by logging in to your Apple Store account online?).

Yep, they now start at the 1.83Ghz speed. The UK Apple Store still hasn't changed though... Hope that doesn't mean that UK buyers will miss out on the speed bump.
