My local authorized dealer sells phones for both AT&T and Cingular. Because so many of their customers who have Cingular want the t68i instead of the t68m, they have unlocked several of their AT&T t68i. The only catch, they mentioned that GPRS may not work.
Does anyone have an unlocked AT&T t68i that is working on Cingular's GPRS (Wireless Internet Express)?
If so, did you just use the settings posted here in these thread? Please let me know before I plunk down a couple of benjamin crispies.

Hello Joe,
Do your homework before you slap down those benjanins because I currently have Cingular Wireless and I just got an unlocked T68i. I’m having problems getting GPRS working on the T68i and don’t know what to do. I have contacted Cingular and SonyEricsson and I’m still having problems using GPRS. I’m thinking about switching to T-Mobile and they told me that Cingular has some form of GRPS but it’s not true GRPS.

I am using an upgraded T68m with Cingular (see my sig). Their GPRS is definitely "true GPRS" (you gotta love the salespeople at T-Mobile for trying to put doubt in your head) but I've also had problems with it.
My access has suddenly disappeared twice in the past 1.5 months and once they had to remove the data features from my account and reapply them before I could get it working again. If you do this make sure you get both the Express and ISP.Cingular features. It may work for you so you could give it a try. Be forewarned however that when they did that, my mailbox in "mywirelesswindow" got garbled to the point where I basically had to delete all of my saved emails. They wouldn't admit it was their fault and had no backup. By the way, neither of you mentioned where you are from so you may have different experiences than I do in California.
Actually, if you are in California/Nevada you probably won't have better experience with any other operator since both T-Mobile and AT&T use the Cingular network for their own customers through a license agreement. Bet the guy at T-Mobile didn't tell you that! But the settings in this forum are correct for getting a T68i to work on Cingular.

it's correct, i posted it.
t-mobile does use cingular's towers but not AT&T. at&t doesn't allow ANYONE to use their towers yet.
thanks.

about the gprs not working, actually, there's a big possibility that a regular csd and gprs may not work if you're going to use the so - called unlocked phones that you are talking about. they may have disabled the sim lock but not the browser itself. u can contact severaL peopLe in US to get it fully unlocked and guaranteed to work when used on ALL gsm providers.
