Hi guys,

I hope someone can help, after I've paired the devices I go to Bluetooth>Handsfree>HBH-608 and press connect, and then, it connects for about 10-ish seconds and then disconnects. This causes problems, such as if I make a call on the phone, it doesn't go through the headset, and when I receive a call the phone rings, but not the headset, although if I press the button on the headset it seems to answer...?

In the instruction manual for the headset it states that whenever the headset is on and in range of the phone it will automatically connect which it doesn't.

Could someone please help, and let me know what to do to make it connect for as long as I wish?

Thanks a lot in advance,

Charlie -

Just a guess. Try following:
1. Go to Menu, Settings, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Handsfree, Incoming call. Set the bullet to 'In handsfree'
2. Go to Menu, Settings, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Power save. Set the bullet to 'On'
3. Go to Menu, Settings, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Visibility. Set the bullet to 'Show phone'

Try to combine these options. Maybe this will help.

No, didn't change anything for me either, but thanks mate, I might try updating the firmware, whats the newest W800i firmware? Does it have same(ish) firmware's as the K750/D750?

Thanks again chaps,

R1AA008. I'm pretty sure about that. At least in Orange ISR.

I'm also having trouble with my W800i (on O2) and my HBH-608.

Sorry to bore everyone with details, but a couple of weeks ago I was quite happily using an S700i with a JABRA BT200. My O2 contract came to an end and I upgraded my phone to a W800i.

The JABRA headset didn't get on with my new phone at all, to the extent that I the phone back to the shop and was given a new one.

The replacement phone seemed to get on a little better with the JABRA headset, but not as well as the S700i had done. Thinking that the problem must be with my JABRA, I decided to throw it away and splash out on an AKONO HBH-608.

At first, everything seemed to be fine between my new bluetooth headset and my new W800i. However, after a few days, odd things started happening.

The best way I can describe it is that most of the time, when I switch on the HBH-608 and connect it to my phone, the connection remains intact for around two minutes or so and then the HBH-608 plays a little tune (lots of short beeps going from high-pitched to low) and conks out. The phone still seems to think it's connected to the headset, but it doesn't communicate with it at all, neither to make calls nor to receive it.

Most annoyingly, when I then go to my Bluetooth menu on my phone and select 'Turn off', it sometimes takes ages to respond and has quite often frozen completely, and I've had to take the battery out etc etc.

Just for everyone's info, the software I've got on my phone is R1AA008.

I'd appreciate any help on this from anyone!

Hmmmmm, seems to me that it's a common problem between W800 and HBH-300. Some sort of incompatibility maybe. Do you have Sony Ericsson representetives in the place you live? Try to contact em by phone, because there is no email contact anymore from their website. But i must say that it's really wierd problem.
1 more thing i can think of... Can you borrow from anyone you know other BT headset, let's say from another brand (Moto, Nokia, etc.). Try to pair it with your phone and see what will happen.
Cheers.

Thanks for replying so quickly.

I contacted SE by telephone and the first suggestion they made was the same as yours, so I'm going to see if I can find other phones/BT headsets to pair with mine.

I'll post the results here.

It looks as though the problem is with the phone.

Does anyone have any ideas that might help?

Thanks very much.
