Hope someone can help.
Got my mate away from noxia and now onto an unlocked ex-voda p910i.
It works fine with any sim.

However when we got o2 uk settings sent that is where problems started.
The internet account and wap account (payg) apply themselves ok as do sms centre settings. The problem is with the mms setting. The phone says it is preset and when you go in via control panel sure enough in mms settings there are vodaphone settings and they are'greyed out'. We can not alter the settings via the control panel - any ideas as to how we can change them or is it a full flashing job. If it is a flash job anyone know someone reliable in Wakefield area of West Yorkshire?

Sorry for long post but this has me stumped and friend is ready to go back to Nokia.

You need to get the phone unbranded not just unlocked to do this normally. One trick I used on my V800 that was unlocked but still voda branded was to download the mms settings and not the internet settings. Then assign the mms account to be used as web as well. I dont know if this works on the p910i though.

I thought of using mms setting for internet by inputting manually.
However that does not get round the problem as the 'greyed out' voda settings are the ones it will use for sending mms. OK if you have voda sim in but he uses O2 and Tmobile. We have used a voda sim and that sends/recieves mms ok.
Anyone any advice on debranding? I realise it will 'blank' the phone but that is not a problem as I have original software to replace stuff such as sMan etc.

A good and effective service postal service has been reported at http://www.unlockingshop.co.uk/ (Salisbury, Wilts).

Alternatively, some have been able to successfully de-brand by themselves, following a process that has been posted elsewhere on this forum. Just do a search for it.
