can someone enlighten me on this... why is that the volume of a ringtone while ringing(for ex. in a call) is louder than volume of the mediaplayer, considering the fact that both are using the same speaker.

ringtone is louder when ur fone rings as it consumes a lot more battery. But seeing as its the ringtone it is only played at that volume for a short period of time, therefore not draining the battery. If the media player could play songs from the media player this loud.... the battery would die quickly

I think higher priority is given to volume during calls. Whereas the low vol. Used in media player or file explorer is for sample listening.

but when i listen to radio thru speaker, my neighbor could even hear it and it is very very loud! why can't this be applied for media player?!
besides, i used to listen to my mp3's rather than radio! its weird!!!

with regards to your query whether you can listen to radio without handsfree, im sorry but you cannot listen to radio without inserting its handsfree that comes with your phone because your phone will need and use it as antenna.
