Sorry mate, but you aren't going to get a gaming PC for £300
At the very least, you'd need something like a radeon x700 graphics card in it and they cost around about £80, which leaves you £220 left for the computer itself, monitor, keyboard and mouse
Probably your best bet would be to get a reasonable dell system like this one:
http://www1.euro.dell.com/con[....]1100?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs
and then buy a graphics card seperately.
It's still going to be nearer £500 though

i saw an ati radeon graphics card which is 256mb for £30 on ebay. found this seller with loads of stuff. theres still hope. i payed (well my parents) £450 for this computer a few weeks ago in currys and its pretty decent for the price. if theres good pcs in currys for £450 there should be some on ebay. they wont be proper shit hot though but should do the job

I think im gonna get a new PC pretty soon. I was gonna get the dell 1100 with the flat panel monitor, but at my dads work they're all swapping to laptops so I might get a free one now!
But that dell 1100 is what i'd go for mate.

Well yeah, there's always ebay but personally I'd never buy electronic items from there. In fact, I refuse to use it at all, but that's just me!
I assumed that glenny was after a brand new system.

you could get something like this which is bang on 300 but it a bit shitty
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Acer-Po[....]tegoryZ179QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
you could always buy a different graphics card or more ram afterwards but that pc should be alright for everything else. dont see the point in having a really expensive one.

Generally any reasonable gaming computer is going to be a stock £400 box (maybe £450 with monitor) and a £100 odd graphics card on top. You'd be extremly lucky to find a reasonable computer for £300.
Laptops, you're looking at around £8-900 for the same sort of spec.
