> t-mobile debrand problem
Bookmark topic
hi all
first post so will try to make myself clear.
i have a t-mobile(uk) p900 that i have just unlocked so i can use my orange (uk). iused the davinci program to do it and all went fine.
i then thought why dont i go the whole hog and debrand it as well. there was no file on the davinci list so i bought a credit for total server and proceeded to debrand it . this seemed to have worked as well.
when i switched my phone back on i still got the horrible t-mobile jingle and tzones is still in the menu.
i then used the se update service to see if i could upgrade to the latest firmware which it did.
i am a bit confused as it seems it has allowed me to update the firmware but has not debranded it.
can anyone help me to sort this problem out or point me in the right direction.
many thanks
mingy

TotalMultiserver can not debrand a P-series phone... What option did you select? All you've done is waste a credit.
If you "unlocked" it all you did was remove any SIM Locks that were there.
To fully debrand a P-series phone you need to flash not only the phone part (often called AVR) which Multiserver can perhaps do, but also flash the Symbian (PDA) part of the phone, which I know for a fact Multiserver can't do. [edit: Unless something has changed with Multiserver recently, I have looked for a while so my statement in a little too bold
You're left with a couple of options:
1) Get a professional to do it, using a UFS based box, or a Cruiser/Fighter solution. This is what I recommend, it's too easy to break these phones with a bad flash, leaving you requiring the services of a pro anyway.
2) Follow the thread here about doing-it-yourself, though I don't think that'd work anymore due to changes in the way the update service works. I might be wrong though.

hi muppet
thanks for the reply mate.
total multiserver 2.04 has a listing for the p900 so i just thought it would work. i have emailed who i got the credit from but not expecting a reply.
the only file i got was what you said ,an avr file. this file says it's a r3d011_upgrade-debrand_firmware.avr. so i just presumed that was it.
i may have another option in that i received a p900 serial cable today and was going to try and do it myself(jump in at the deep end i know but im an idiot).
is there any software that somebody can advise me on to totally debrand the phone with the serial cable.
cheers for the help

See that's the thing, there is *NO* free software that will just work with a serial cable to debrand these phones.
Your only "free" option is the "hack the SE DLL" trick that's posted somewhere else in this forum.
Other than that, you _need_ either:
Cruiser/Fighter
A UFS Box (Twister, Tornado, UFS2, UFS3)
There's no logger (Multiserver/Davinci) tool that'll do it, nor will any of the cracked SEMC/SeTool/Div programs do it.

@mingy:
Seems I might well have to pull my head in.
Reading in another forum I've seen people say you can debrand your P910 quite happily with Multiserver. This is news to me since I last used it, but it was quite a while ago so it would appear they've branched out.
I'll look into it and see if I can't post something to help you in the right direction.
You learn something new every day!

Hi any one heard of Unlockit.com who are offering a remote debrand service, is this even possible as it claims to flash the phone and software to latest firmware and no operator stuff.
