just wonder how many people use the P800 here still ? is it due to the fact they dont think its worth upgrading or money(lack of) or pure and simply because you think its still up their at the top with the new versions p900/910 etc etc i still use a P800 just got it of here a few days ago ,its the second one that i have had and i think its still an amazing phone considering its age i think its still up their at the top of the list , however im still buying a p900/910 soon just simply for the better screen and proceser no other reason for my upgrade what about you !!

@dave29 - Welcome to Esato mate ! Just got mine for 2 weeks now. I was curious how the

fone will FAIR with the others (PDA arena) as I manage to get me a Motorola A768i and A780 which are really great ones (prior to owning a P800) and the very complicated - XDAIIs/Christmas gift, sold it after a week while the price was still high

). Yup, I am really satisfied with how it works . . . and planning to swap my P800 and Motorola V3 for the . . . P910i !

As an old (and ever glad) p800 user, I must say that it still does the work. P910 worth only if memory limitation (128 mb) is a problem

I was thiking of buying a p800 but had a play with one a few months back and...no,it's just too slow and the screen is weak, also it's showing it's technological age. I have a p910i and it's a whole different apparatus. Maybe to get one for collection.

I was still using my P800 till last October, when I could get a P910 cheap on contract... the P900 was never a worthwhile upgrade, and to be honest the only "killer app" of the P910 in comparison was the extended memory, and the ability to put a ton of music on it. Sure it's improved in various other ways, but underneath the go-faster stripes it's really just a P800 still.
To this day the P800 is still a very capable business & multimedia phone, and I'd have no qualms about going back to mine if the P910 broke. Or at least I wouldn't if I hadn't sold it (proving that it's still in demand).

Okay so far its looking like the p800 is still up-to-date in terms of what it can do for todays market etc which is probably why its in use so much still . speed ,well its not all that fast but is it not us all being more impatient in our hectic life's than we were that make it seem slow ??????thanks for the welcome to esato comment guys its a great place

One remark: all SE UIQ phones share the same CPU speed (156MHz).

ah thats interesting re cpu speed !!! so why do people say that p900,etc run faster or are faster than the p800 ?? maybe due to hardware but then again would that affect the speed of the phone ??? i wonder how many people actualy know that they are all running on the same cpu speed ???
thanks for that info

Re the CPU speed - I think it's partly wishful thinking on some people's part. I remember when the P900 came out (it might even have happened with the P910 too) there were some daft rumours about it having an amazing second processor that made it so much better than the P800... in fact it was all BS, as there were virtually no internal changes from the P800, which also had the same second processor to separately manage the phone functions. Really all that changed was a little more memory in the P900, and then a bit more still in the P910, each time making a few of the larger and more complex apps run a touch faster - but not so much that it was worth getting excited about.
If you really want to know why the P800 is now considered old hat, it primarily comes down to cosmetic design. The baby blue, curvy concept of the P800 dated quickly, and the P900 & 910 are generally believed to look sexier, so that in addition to the minor tweaks and improvements makes them popular, and the P800 seem old... but in reality, when you get the casings off, they're just three different designs of essentially the same phone. And the P800 should really get more respect for being so far ahead of its time, while the later models merely built on its greatness.
As for your avatar, I think it's do with your postcount - keep posting and it'll get darker...
