i think k700 can use mp3 as message tone alert. even i don't have a k700, my office mate has mentioned this to me and she's always asking for good mp3s. that i think would only require some effort of discovering it or reading its manual.

The answer is NO, K700 only supports MP3 as ringtone, not message alert tone.

yeah @bulti48 is right.
you can only use mp3 as call alert tone and NOT as message alert tone.
i just confirmed it from my ofismate.
