> LF a new shiny laptop

Rite, Im looking for a new laptop to replace my desktop, but have some requirements.
1 cannot be mac: i use a mac as my main pc right now and specifically need a windows pc.
2 max price 600 + postage, its only going to be used about 4 times a month as I will only use it for phone unlocking and listing crap on ebay, I probally won't use it for anything else
3 must have a widescreen, built in wi-fi, minimum of a 1.5 m processor, 512 ram and a 40gb hd, um dvd rw+_ is prefered and I would like one with a 17" screen, but that is not essential
4 - i DO NOT want one of the dells that cost 300 odd in peter kays thread, they are far to bulkey for me and i don't really like dell much as their lower end ones i believe are cheap and scummy
5 : can be 2nd hand i don't care and don't mind buying from people or over ebay etc
6: must have a firewire port - I have a 250gb external hd which is firewire and must be compatable
i think thats it, does anyone have any suggestions

Ah my bad the second ones goes to over £700 with postage and VAT did not see that small print.

one thing with the last vaio - you have to add vat, which makes it add up to over 700-poss 800 and I can get the same thing from macro for 695 lol.
I don't have a prefered brand, but do liek the new HP pavilions, acer, fujisu and ibm, I have had sony ones, but unless its cheap would like to stay away from them as though their design is great they are normally overpriced and not very good laptops in my opionion

cant you just buy another really decent desktop if your only posting crap on ebay and random unlockings which i dont see why you need a laptop for that and you can get a much better desktop pc for that price
