I've just picked up a 6600 for 45gbp as i've always had a softspot for them even though i've always used the p series phones ultimately. To all 6600 users, has the phone been reliable, or has it been a letdown(specifically the joystick)? How long have you had/owned it for?And can anyone tell me whether or not the 7650 uses the same or similar looking joystick as the 6600? I've used a Nokia 7650 for 3 times already I guess (different IMEIs), I really like it's camera (sharpest in the market at the time it was realeased, a VGA though) and sliding feature feel. The only downside was it's - bulkiness. I think it has the same joystick with that of the N6600.

Here's a pic my Nokia 7650 with an original 7650 Leather Case too:

I've always had a soft spot for the Nokia smartphones, currently got a 7610 amongst my phones, great platform! Had a couple of 7650s, and briefly had a 6600, though it had a camera problem so sold it on again. Still good phones now, though the Symbian version on the 7650 is a bit dated now and won't run all the apps!

The new Nokias never have the same feel as the old ones did, such as the 6680, it just feels cold compared to phones like the 7650, 6600 and 7610.

Im not one for nostalgia, but those three i have good memories of, but ultimately the one thing that i hated about the 7650 was its colossal size. It literally was a house brick.

@etaab - 'Brick' I guess the N7650 is far much 'shorter' than the Communicator-series . . . and even with the 3650/3660 (N7650-closed). I had the N7610 too (then), I really hate it's keypad style, so confusing I remember selling it last 2004 and getting me a brand new - K700i

@jn, how long did you own the 7650 for? Also, can anyone tell me whether or not the 7650 used the same joystick as that of the 6600?Since using se k series phones i've become very insecure about any phone with a joystick letting me down.Really wanna know if anyone has bashed a 7650/6600 joy to death! @dotsis - As I've said, I manage to have that N7650, in a period of about 3 years, intermittently. The feel is GOOD. I never did own a N660 though. As I can vividly recall, the joysticks on the N7650 and 660 are 'almost' the same . . . they are slimmer than the one in K700i.

@ JN, but the communicator series were meant to be that size, the 7650 was huge simply because.. it was huge !

Regarding the 7610, i liked it. At first i thought it was pretty ugly, but the keypad grew on me, and the black & red combination fascias were classy.

From what I've heard, the Nokia joysticks were a lot more reliable, and weren't as erratic as SE ones. I've not seen many 7650s or 6600s with joystick problems as SE phones when searching on Ebay.

Huh, I definitely beat you all when it comes to 7650 usage/experience ! Check some of my latest posts and you'll see why .The 7650 joystick is the one to beat ! Mine is getting abused for almost 43 months now (basically every day 100-500 moves) and guess what - never missed a 'click'. I only use one cell - a 7650. The only phone I will replace it with is a N80. Greetings from South Africa. Mario
