I'm a Palm user (m505) and it's time for an upgrade. I fancy the T|X but I quite like the LifeDrive, too.

Assuming money is no object, what should I go for and why?

I like that attitude. .

Tbh. I would rather go for a lifedrive then the tx. But am very satified with my treo 650 right now.

Dont you find the lack of multitasking annoying?

Not really.

Do you know how accessible the SD drive is in the T|X? i.e. can I play mp3s directly from it?

I'm not too sure, but in my treo, If I put MP3's in the root of my SD, real player can play them. Or, you could always purchase Pocket Tunes. It searches through the SD and main memory, and plays WMA's, OOG's, MP3's, MP4's, M4A's, everything. Also TCMP can do the same, but no playlist support.

yes you can, and if you install PowerRun, you can also install all your apps on the SD card and run them from there.

i would get the TX for two reasons:

flash memory is much faster than a hard drive. a lot of LifeDrive users complain about how long they often have to wait as the hard drive spins searching for data. with flash, you get it at the speed of light.

more importantly, the palm is a portable device which, knock on wood, you may drop every so often. with an SD card that won't be a problem. i'm not too sure how many knocks that hard drive will be able to take...

Be careful with LD, it is rather slow because of Hitachi microdrive. Tx with big SD card better i think. This message was posted from a Z1010
