I have an o2 k500i phone and basically the joystick fails to work at all and after i read through other topics,i saw that some advised removing the cover and trying to get rid of dirt, however this didn't help, and it seems my joystick is not attached to the main phone, does this sound beyond repair?

i was wondering what my next move should be?

I can be re-soldered to the mainboard, but that's something I've never tried, I imagine it needs a lot of precision and skill. You may need to take it to a phone shop or service centre, though it may be more economically viable to simply get the phone replaced I'm afraid!

K500is and K700is are pretty cheap on Ebay now

skad don't worry, its a minor job...!

It costs around Rs 150 ( $ 3 Aprox) to get the Joystick changed...! Just go to the nearest SE center..!

Thanks for your help
How can i find my nearest service center?
I tried the sony ericsson site, but for some reason it said both my uni and my home addresses didn't work
I live in the north-west of England, in Preston, if anyone knows if theres a dealer near me it'd be helpful
