> pop ip#'s for orange uk
Bookmark topic
Hi to All,
I have searched this forum for IP numbers to access my ORANGE mail directly using pop.
I presently have the following settings, but always says "Server not Found":
On my PC, I have no difficulty...
Incoming Server : pop.orange.net
Outgoing Server : smtp.orange.net
I need the actual IP numbers for both servers, and not the address as stated above.
If any kind soul has the relative IP #'s, then could you please share these numbers by post here.
Appreciate your HELP!
Kindest Regards,
Julio

go to a dos window/Command Prompt and type 'ping pop.orange.net' hit Return.
i got back 193.35.131.188 but the request timed out...try yourself for the smtp server.

Here is the orange smtp server IP address:
193.35.131.155
If you call 156 from your orange phone, you go through to wirefree/data services, they'll tell you the pop server address.

The reason (if you really need one) I posted the info, is because he said he'd already searched the forum for it! I knew the answer, because I'd already posted it somewhere else myself!

Why don't you search the forum for a thread on "How to be somewhat useful..."?

Hi Guys,
Tks for the quick response, have placed the appropriate IP for POP and SMTP.
I travel extensively, and there the need to access email via POP and not GPRS/WAP.
I have tried accessing my Orange.NET email with the IP's, and still get "Failed - Cannot connect to server"
The numbers I dial to access my Orange email from outside the UK, where I presently am, are:
+44.845.079.5001
+44.797.310.0273
Maybe I need a DNS # for my Orange data account.
Why I say this, is because I succesfully access my other pops in Portugal which have a DNS # in the "data account"
Any ideas... are welcome!
