1. hi, i have had this problem for a while. basically i cannot open some links on the internet. what i did notice was that down the bottom when i hover over the link that won't open, it is something relating to java script... simply there is no reaction when i click on these links, not even a plage not displayed or something. i have the latest java 5.0 update 6... what can i do? any help? some examples of this problem is the most annoying one to me, when editing my space on msn, there is never any reaction from the add photos button. also, just various links to open pictures, videos... change phones on SE website when comparing phones! stuff like that.
2. second problem is that when i try to watch a video on newmobile.nl, the video does not work, and it tells me i need some quick time components, takes me to
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/resources/components.html, what am i meant to get there? i have latest version of quicktime... 7.???
???

any help please...
thanks, please help...

i have the same problem as you for the first one. Try holding CTRL cos there may be a pop-up blocker, thats all i can think of, you need the brainbox of computers here aka cycovision

This one is an absolute bugger, and to be honest I don't know why it happens and I've never really found a 100% fix for it other than reinstalling
Do you have Norton Antivirus or Internet Security installed? Reason I ask is that I've noticed this problem more on computers with Norton than I have without but uninstalling it doesn't seem to help anyway.
The only thing I can suggest is IEFix:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
It's worth a try, but I wouldn't pin too many hopes on it

You'll probably need a windows XP install disk, it'll ask for it.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Norton causes it but I don't know how
It might be worth taking Norton out temporarily using msconfig and services.msc to see if that cures the problem. If it does, you could uninstall norton and stick another AV on instead.
Not sure it'll help though

problem is, last time i turned norton off to use another security to try something else that was not working properly, i had about 3 or 4 rapidly spreading viruses that were unprotected against. i was like whoall f***! turn on turn on norton damn you! i'm so sorry, i'll never do it again to you!
