Can anyone reccomend an easy to use programme for converting .avi video files mpeg1 (vcd) and mpeg2 (svcd)? I've done a search but everytime I find one, it's either not free or very complicated to use. I don't mind if the process takes ages, I just want it to work!

Think that will do what you want, and very easy to use.
Think it is free but not sure
