Ericsson is a world-leading provider of telecommunications equipment and related services to mobile and fixed network operators globally.

Mobile phones was a product line of the Swedish company until Sony of Japan bought into the Mobile phone division (was it in 2003?) in order to introduce innovations and eventually increase market share.

As part of the strategy, they have decided to re-brand the mobile phones to Sony Ericsson to reflect its global reach.

Just to make it clear...

Ericsson and Sony are 2 different entities.
Each had their own lines of mobile phones,
however,
both agreed to enter into a joint venture for the design, production and marketing of mobile phones under a brand called Sony Ericsson.
The rest is recent history....

That Indeed was a match made in Mobile World...I wonder why is it " Sony Ericsson" and not " Ericsson Sony"...Guess the first Rhymes better or the first name is the major partner or what...!
Also I have never been able to Understand the SE Logo..Anyone know its meaning...
