As the title reads i'm after a decent set of headphones for my w800i, I've been looking at a set of Shure E2c's on eBay as my little sister has a pair and I really like them. I've noticed the Etymotic ER6i's too. I have a budget of around £50, £60 max. Does anyone have any recommendations or have any to sell?

Cheers

Dan

I got the Sony MDR-EX71 from Sony in the end, excellent.

Cheers mate, I remember seeing that thread a little while back. Is the difference between the EX71s and the HPM-70s noticeable as apart from colour, they look incredibly similar.

hmm, don't know. the EX71's are phenomenal, but one word of warning: The wires aren't covered in plastic, its a sort of foam stuff - i'm guessing to make them more flexible. This foam coating strips of quite easily - I got my headphones in October and the coating is almost completely off the right earphone wire...it hasn't compromised the sound quality any but it is annoying. Having said that, they are the best headphones i've ever had and i would heartily recommend them.

Ok, I think I'll pop down to my local Sony centre after work to get all the info on them and to get a closer look, if I like them I'll go home and buy them on eBay If anyone has any other reviews to help me out it would be much appreciated. Cheers Meths

ex71 all the way man, best headphones I have ever owned, though I am biased as I sell them lol, but I have used a set for over a year and found nothing better for the price

Had these same Sonys for a while too. Best headphones by far, but a word of warning is to keep them protected e.g. in a zippo tin. otherwise they end up pretty batered.
