In a rather strange move, today Sony Ericsson released DRM Packager v1.33, even though the previous version was v1.34!

The good thing is, this version removes the limitation of not being able to convert audio file types into DRM protected files. So, with any luck, Vodafone users can again convert MP3's for use as ringtones. I tested it on my O2 phone and converted files play, but it never had the limitation in the first place.
