2 part question ive had my phone 3 years with the same battery . how much more life would a new one give me, and where could i buy a replacement on the web with my paypal account

I'd say Ebay - very cheap but watch out for the fake batteries, also a lot of non-genuine stuff out there. Not necessarily bad the non-genuine ones, but if you're after a gen one I suspect a lot of the cheap 'genuine' ones from the far east are fakes.

You know, the Swiss are inherently trustworthy - I hope. 23 Euros to anywhere in Europe, should be arriving tomorrow.
Their site is good in that it explains the different types of batteries available.
