Just imported a newly encoded video, undocked the phone after uninstalling the usb. Silly phone has got stuck on its startup routine, I now have a blank white screen. Ended up pulling the battery and sim out... still gets stuck during the start up (starts and ends with a blank white screen). Opening the phone no longer starts the phone and it no longer recognises the charger grrrrrrr, want to throw it out the window...

u got the wsod (white screen of death) u'll need to reflash ur phone for it to work again.

hey, hey hey! that's one expensive device you're planning to throw out of the window... perhaps you could tell me which side of the window you will throw it, so that i could pick it up before it crashes into the ground... hehe... anyway...
seems like your phone needs to be reflashed. you can use SEUS, or better yet, take it to a service center and have them reflash your phone [if it's still under warranty, you can reflash it for free]

i kinda have the same problem with my mobile.. ( sony ericsson T290i ) ... well it all started when i was sufing the net on my mobile. it hanged and i took off the battery. from that time when ever i try starting the mobile a blank white screen comes + the battery indicator comes.. it cant be turned off and the battery should be pulled of to turn it off again. Now whenever i turn on the mobile it says please wait and shuts off and again starts again and says please wait and shuts off again.. I still have the warranty.. wats wrong with my mobile.? please reply soon.

I noticed that this so called White screen of death appears if you remove the battery and plug the phone in to charge. So maybe it could be a battery connection/charging problem...?

SE service centre can repair and so could SEUS but the losers haven't provided an SE update yet

Happened to my sister's W900, after she pulled the USB cable while the phone is still restarting to "File Transfer" mode. I had to bring it to a SE service centre to get it fixed.

ya i aint that smart.. Wat are SE and SEUS.. anyways in the mechanic store they said that they couldnt fix it as the sofware isnt here in my country.. i bought it from DUbai and now with warranty im going to fix it... I hope the UNOFFICIAL mechanic did'nt open the mobile to install the software.. even if he did , how will they know????? does somthing trigger anything ?
anyways here are my question:-
Will they know if my mobile is opened or not?

what the ****s wrong with my mobile?
how much will it cost me if no warranty?

Hmm, i have same situation twice with my W900i, fir time when i was playing Tenchu and phone restarts... I thought it was problem with battery, cause when i started phone there was only white screen... But when i came to house and connected it to charger nothing changes. But it changes after 15 minutes (Yes, it was 15 minutes!!), when Sony Ericsson logo appear. Second situation appeared when i "hard-restarted" phone getting battery from phone without shutting down. But then after connecting phone to charger and waiting 5 minutes phone started. The only problem that i see was now some problems with IrDA (Sometimes i can't send anything, there is only "Operation Failed"), some applications (Fe. Face Warp doesn't start, same problem like with IrDA) and at first start there was no wallpaper on screen... But phone works.
SE give us new firmware! : |
