So I'm without my K750i again - 4th time since June 05:

June - Get brand new K750i. Photos come out with red lines across them. Send it off to o2 for a direct replacement.

September - Got loads of dust under the screen and the joystick stops working. Take it into my local o2 shop and it's sent away for 2 weeks repair.

October - I get the phone back, take it home and it won't connect to a network. I take it back to the o2 shop who send it away again. I get a brand new phone as a replacement a few days later.

March - Joystick stops working again and there's loads more dust under the screen. Back to the o2 shop and off for repair again!

So I'm using my trusty T610 again. I know people have had probs with their K750i but I must be cursed.

I called o2 and all they could say was "your contract is up for renewal in May so we'll do you an extra good deal"

sheesh....

Is SE the only company to have such bad build quality, or does it affect all brands? Obviously as this is a SE fan site you would expect more problems relating to SE but does every manufacturer have this many problems, especially relating to joysticks?

my k700 is now over 14 months old. for this time i've never taken it to a service center. all i do is clean it myself. well sometimes it works somtimes it doesn't. there was a period when it didn't work up period when didn't work down and so on...the interesting part is that when i open the case and blow the dust away it starts working as good as new but then after 5 min it stops working again.
in the moment it works left and right and instead of up and down it gives "OK". it drives me crazy sometimes. damn SE joysticks!!!

I feel sorry for you. That was the sentence I used once. I know how you feel. My K750 was 2 times on repair in two months. First the joystick, and then the earphone speaker. But whole repairment was in couple of hours, so i must be luckier then you

Right a simple easy solution to get rid of these problems:

a) Rotate the joystick a few times in the menu, its said that this resets the settings for the joystick but i believe it helps push dusk particles different directions. If these occurence have only began, this method will give you the joystick back for a few hours, maybe even a day.

b) In order to remove the dust beneath the joystick, i used WD40. It gets to work straight. Simply remove the front of your k750i. Take the layers off until theres a clear shot on the joystick. Spray the joystick (make sure you use the red straw which WD40 comes supplied with) and rotate it after. Turn the phone on and keep repeating the same method untill you feel the joystick is to your satisfactory. It will eventually go perfect.

* Make sure you remove your memory card before attempting this.

* Once done, my memory card slot had WD40 inside, so whenever i inserted my pro duo in and took it out, i would always get bits of WD40. I began with loads, but when i slot it out now, i get the odd bit. WD40 does not in anyway damage the memory card but its a heads up.

* The phone will smell of WD40 so i suggest using some kind of wipe to remove that awful smell.

I was actually thinking about selling this phone becasue of the joystick but ive once again discovered why the joystick can be better then a d-pad.

Good luck hope this helps.

been using my K750 for 6 months now... wel at first the joystick was kinda thing that makes me jumpy... first is good the next thing is awful and lousy..then it gets back good. well i just stick to it and play the way it should if it aint workin from a simple nudge then i nudge a little harder.

in playing games i use the keypad. the only time i use my joystick is when browsing files and phone book. i usually use keypads to go around the phone and joystick for submenus. so far i havent got any bigger problems than that... satisfied with my joystick... tho i wish future phones diminish this part since majority is havin quams about it....

cheers yall. just wanna share my experience...

lol@Samsung D600 even here

Miss Uk, if you have time, do check out this url and especially D870.

I admit, the joystick on k750i is a nightmare and SE should close down if they repeat this mistake again.
