Okay, that was an exaggeration, but literally starting two days ago, %20 of my calls both outgoing and incoming come in extremely distorted (overdriven) and the person at the other end says I am breaking up and distorted as well. Could this be an issue that could be solved whn I update my firmware or is this more likely to be a hardware issue. Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.

Does this sound like it's a network problem or a phone problem? I'm wondering if it's Cingular that is messing up and not my phone... Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I think I fixed the problem....
I remember I was at school the other day and I had no reception in on of my classes so I went into the GPRS settings and did a new search for netwroks. When it should a long list of a bunch of different networks, I noticed the sklots 1 and 2 were both Cingular (which is my service provider). What I did was I moved a cingular that was like slot 26 and made that number 1 and then manually selected that as my network. Well, I got the reception back but that's when I really started to notice this problem.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that is was just me selection some random cingular network that did work to well in my area which is why I was getting shotty connections.
I hope this thread can help someone in the same situation.
