I would go for anything from the TomTom range. I personally use the TomTom GO 500, which is absolutely fantastic (except in the centre of London - it doesn't like tall buildings!).

As well as standard sat nav features, it is all a bluetooth carkit, traffic master, and provides weather information if you want it as well.

Prices range between about £150 (for the mobile software + GPS unit) and £430 (for the TomTom GO 700 - similar to the 500, but with a built-in hard drive for extra map storage, and door-to-door mapping for Western Europe. Also includes remote control).

Other brands worth looking at are Garmin and Navman.

P.S. You only need to post the question once

Would be helpfull if you gave more information - is it for a mobile, do you want software for a pda, or do you want a stand-alone unit? What is your budget and do you want to pay a large amount upfront or have a system that works on more of a pay-as-you go system?

As a general rule TomTom are widely regarded as being one of, if not the, best for gps. They have just announced a new range of their standalone systems - the GO units. These will be out in may i think. They also do a mobile phone version of their software - check their website for compatibility. Although as a word of caution the new go's run the TomTom software version 6.00 therefore i wouldnt be surprises if an upgrade for their mobile phone version is announced soon as this is still on version 5.00 and uses older map data.
