correct. Their is no disadvantage to charging via usb, infact it is very useful. It will suck a bit more life out of a laptop batt, but only while it's being charged - once fuly charged charging stops so power drain to the lappie unless phone not fully charged.

Since you guys are on the subject.

A while ago I left the W800i on the USB to charge overnight. The battery only reached 86% capacity. Using the wall charger it will be 98%.

Do you guys notice this on yours as well? Or is this a issue related to the maximum output of the voltage on my USB port?

Thanks for any info!

im worried because of the constant need to transfer data (like i plug in the phon 3-4 times a day) and the battery gets recharged a little bit every time...
and that isnt bad?

batteries used to suffer from memory affect, where if you charged them only a bit a time, the overall capacity of the battery would decrease. Phone batteries no longer have this problem, and you can charge as little or as much at a time as you want.

The other factor with new batts, they don't keep charging when they are full (like older batteries that go into trickle charge mode). So because they stop charging when full, the battery life cycle is enhanced. So you can't overly affect the battery lifecycle by charging frequently.

great! thanks for the nice answer

so, one more question, ever since i had a mobile i usually charge my phone when it reminds me that the battery is empty. will this help me prolong my battery life on k750i?

No. The reason to do that is to condition the older style atteries (in other words to prevent battery memory affect)

No need to keep doing that with the new style batteries, however it won't do any harm either. The best thing is to charge it about once a night or so. The phone only needs two hours to fully charge the battery, so two hours of being cnnected to the computer and you don't have to worry about charging for another day or two.
