ah, you mean they don't work? Or you lost them?
I have had 3 vaios recently - all laptops, and I gota say all but one of the recovery discs didnt work, it was shocking and quite bad as I had no idea the discs didnt work, and as a result the usb ports count run properly as it had incorrect drivers, and I couldnt get the normal ones anywhere, leading me to having to seel the laptop because my data stick wasnt compatable with it.

my latest vaio's have the recovery disc data stored in a partition on the hard drive and they provide a utility within windows to create the DVD's from that.
This is a good idea but does cost you some of your hard drive space.
by coincidence I cannot find the recovery discs for my wifes desktop, a PCV-RX401, and I was onto Sony vaio-link yesterday about getting some replacements.
I was informed that its fairly easy if you registered the PC with Sony but this one was bought back in 2002 and we never registered it.
So, the procedure is to send them a copy of the proof of purchase, the serial number of the PC and a photo of the windows licence key sticker after which you can then get a set of recovery discs. I forgot to ask how much though but I'm still hoping we can find the discs around the house somewhere.
