Hi,

I bought this new w800i a couple of months back and I must say I am very happy with its peroformance. However, one thing which I am not so pleased about it, it doesnt allow me to fast forward (ff) or playback while playing videos. I dont know if thats the problem with my phone or all w800s behave the same way. My friend who has a nokia set uses smartmovie to play his videos, should I install the java version of it on my set to play videos ? PLEASE HELP !

Use the media player to view your videos, then press and hold the joystick left or right to fast forward or rewind.

Thanks. now my question is, where can I get Media player installed on my w800 ?! I searched on the web, but could not find anywhere. Can you pls give me a link where I can get the java version of Media player which I can install on my phone ? Thank you.

click the walkman button on your phone, when it starts up go to videos and play them that way.... that way you will be able to fastforward and rewind......

Leeboy, thanks for the reply, but I think you didnt get what I was asking. when I play thru walkman button, it allows me to go to next video when I try to forward, but not fast forwarding in the same video file I am watching. As mentioned by Del, I think I have to get media player or smartmovie installed on my application to do that.
Someone suggest me where I can get the java version of media player or smart movie plsssssss ?!

i see, sorry.

But i have a w800i, no updates, no added medias player and i can fastforward using the joystick.... if you push accross and release it changes video.. if you hold accross for a few seconds then it fastforwards.... etc.

Not sure why youre getting these problems... it could be either the file type or firmware you are using....

This is gonna sound very silly now but have you tried holding teh joystick, say, left while watching the vid? (it has to be running before you try and fastforward).....

Otherwise im no help and my input here was a waste of time (lol, sorry buddy), hope you get it all sorted

Lee boy , you are a cool boy !! you know what ? it actually worked !! but the thing is, as you said, it works only when I run from walkman mode.. if I go to File Manager and try to open a video file and play that, then FF doesnt work. but when I play it thru walkman button, then it works ! Though I dont know why it doesnt work in normal mode, I am so happy to see the FF function working on my mobile for first time.. thank you so much !!

no problem at all matey, its the same on my phone and i think everyones, it only works through the walkman mode
