Hey, Can anyone direct me on how to alter the reading and writing settings for the P910i. I see there are the possibilities of doing this with Chinese but havent found much on Japanese. I get a lot of emails that are in Japanese and being on the move it would be better to be able to access them through my phone. If you could email me at
kingkill2000@hotmail.com that would be great. Cheers,
Pat

Dear Pat,
I had the same problem, and kind of still have... I desperately wanted to get japanese on my phone and writing enabled. The writing (text input) seems to be impossible, but I have sort of gotten Japanese text/email/internet-pages to display correctly. Please read my site for more info.
Just for your info, i have a few threads below awaiting for some answers that I havent quite figured out yet, but what I have should get your started.

This is one way of doing it. This one is simpler, and works right away, but Internet Browser (only builtin) will refuse to work.

This second option gives you more flexibility in terms of getting the font you really want to have. You can find TTF fonts online, just browse for it. Make sure you use one that also has Roman characters, otherwise your System Menu will not be displayed correctly. Also make sure you install fonts always on your memory stick, this way if something gets "unballanced", you take the card out, reboot, and things are sorted again.
Let me know how far you get...
Ben
