RING-WRITER PUTS WRITING BACK IN THE HANDS OF MOBILE USERS

A new user interface, Ring-Writer, for pen-on-touchscreen based mobile
devices evolves mobile text entry beyond thumbing on numeric keypads and miniaturized keyboards. The pilot version of the software is available at
www.ring-writer.com.
The community of Ring-Writers expanded with the release of Ring-Writer 1.1 for Sony Ericsson models P900 and P910i in March 2006, three months after Ring-Writer 1.0 for Nokia 7710 was released.
The innovative software system puts the art of writing back in your hands, using what we all learned first – a pen. Ring-Writer provides a natural, fluid and easy way to enter text on smartphones, letting your words flow anywhere and anytime, especially when composing SMS or email messages.
Ring-Writer actually improves the pen, and because of its predictive word capability and easy to remember word-shapes "Ring-writing" is a more powerful writing tool than a keyboard, hand-writing recognition software, or even pen on paper.
The pilot versions have been released as freeware in order to get feedback from earlier adopters of the technology.
The first users of this pilot version of Ring-Writer provided very
positive feedback in the user forums at
www.ring-writer.com.
Software downloads of the pilot versions, a Flash demo, background,
documentation, help and FAQ are also available on the Ring-Writer website at
www.ring-writer.com.

The Ring-Writer team has released a new version of the Ring-Writer pilot software for the Nokia 7710 and SonyEricsson P900/P910i (build 1.1.2). The new version has eight language dictionaries (including Spanish) and improves functionality on the Nokia 7710.
Please visit the site often for news for more software updates and to share your experiences and thoughts concerning Ring-Writer.
We sincerely want more feedback like the post above. Tell us what you like about the software, what you would like to be different and what you would want in a full feature software that utilizes the Ring-Writer interface. What features would be necessary before you would be willing to pay money for it? Is it a complete text-input interface replacement for a full range of interactive devices?
Thank you!
