Hi all. I have dragged some songs from my I Tunes library onto my P910 memory stick. The phone recognises them and will play them in music player but it wont play them as a ring tone.
It shows them as set as the ring tone but when you try to listen to it or when someone rings it doesnt play.
Any ideas why.

It depends how you have iTunes set up to import music.
Unless you have the import set to MP3, your music will probably be imported as M4A - a format that the music player will recognise, but not the alarm/alert/ringtone function.
You can easily convert your whole library to mp3 with iTunes, then set your import settings to mp3 then you should be ok.

I agree with previous reply

Some More Tips

1) By default Ring Tone Plays for few seconds . You can edit ur favorite Song using Sony Sound Forge or Free Software like Audacity to make a ring tone of max 30 sec duration

SE P910i be default plays Ring for Short Period You can extend this period by Typing

*61*VOICE MAIL NUM*11*Time_in_Seconds# Time in Sec: 5:5:30 Colon means Increment in 5 sec
e.g T Mobile USA
*61*8056377243*11*30#

This command will play MP3 Clip or (any formmated Clip as described above) for 30 sec....

You can never miss a call now

How do I convert my library to MPŁ. I know how to change what format they are imported with. I have 4000 songs in Itunes to change. Hope I don't have to re import them all.
Thanks

you can highlight your tunes and "convert selection to mp3" - it may take some time for 4000 tunes but it should be ok.

It might be a good idea to do it in sections.

Ha ha. Bought about 20 from I tunes the rest are from CD's but my settings were to AAC or whatever it is. Gonna try converting if I can figure out how to do it.
Cheers all.

Get yourself the software PowerMP3 for your P910

It plays M4A files directly and even has EQ.

The only thing you can't play are the songs you purchased in iTMS, because they are protected.

cheers
