i recently bought a z520i which was operator branded. please keep in mind i'm extremely new to SE and any phones that use firmware (about 2 weeks) so i've been wading through a LOT of info but not really finding my answer.
i tried connecting the phone via cable (dcu-60) to SEUS. it gets to the screen where it gives instructions (1-5) about removing sim, holding 'c' button etc...i do all that then it says step 6 release 'c'. then it hangs for ages then goes back to "start"
after a couple of days i got annoyed with the branding and flashed my phone. i'm in australia and wasn't really sure what CDA i should use so used CDA102337/10 - Europe2.
anyway with the flashing i actually went backwards in firmware version. once again i tried connecting to SEUS but same thing happened as first trys.
i'm wondering whether its a firewall problem? i also had problem when trying to download the files for flashing, i had to get them another way and manually input them into client, so i thought that probably was firewall to. thing is i have a hardwall in my router and no idea how to bypass that (i don't use xp firewall at all and i had my anti virus turned off etc).
its not a BIG deal, as i'm happy with how the phone is functioning and as they say if it aint broke don't fix, but just for curiousity's sake and if i do come across any glitches that firmware upgrade fixes, i'd like to know i could access SEUS.
does anyone have any thoughts on the situation and also would SEUS even accept the CDA code i've now got and not reject or rebrand my phone?
thanks
