Whats confusing abt it...TCPMP is still in beta but plays most of the popular audio & video formats except wmv & rm. Just download it from ne of the various sites that host it...I believe the latest release is 0.71j, although it is only for the beta testers & the official site is giving out 0.71b as a freeware.

How do you get it to play M4V files?

It won't recognize mine - what format (audio/video codec) are they in?

cheers

Don't know peter...I just beamed an m4v file that I had on my comp 2 see if it is supported & it played...although very fast...2x/4x speed & without sound...but I remember reading in symbian freaks forum that it supported QuickTime. I will post all the codecs (file with .$$$ extentions) Ive in my system data folder, here if U want.

What I mean is, that an . m4v videofile can contain video and audio in different codec formats - for example H.264 video and AAC audio, or mpeg4 video and some other audio format.

If you open the file in Quicktime and select "Show Movie info" from the window menu, you can see what codec's are used, what the bitrate is etc.

THAT's the info I was looking for.

@peter...this is what showed when I selected grt info :
Kind: MPEG-4 video file
Size: 1.9MB
Bit Rate: 48kbps
Sample Rate: 16.000kHz
Profile: Low Complexity
Channels: Stereo
Hmmm...so basically its just a mp4 video file.
And thats why it played on TCPMP without ne sound.
