Hey everyone, I'm hoping someone else ran into this same problem that I have. I bought a new housing case for my P800 and disassembled and reassembled it as per instructions on
http://uselessinfo.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/dismantlep800.htm
However now the touchscreen does not work and neither does any sound come from the phone. I can dial out with the phone and connect but I can't hear or talk to anyone. Please help!

i could be that the screen is touching the housing on one or more place , and that prevents any normal working of the screen , you'll have to take the phone apart to look if some thing is sticking out of the housing
about the sound ; it could be that you misplaced the speaker a little
hope i made this clear enough

i dunno if there is any other ways to do this. I've assembled it and the screen is as it should be. And the speaker is making contact with the board too... i don't get this. No matter how many times i take it apart and put it back together it's doing the same thing.

then an esato veteran , that still owns a p800 should look in this thread , because i dont have a p800 anymore to check what it could be
you could also ask sammy boy , as he does alot of repairing

Seems to me that the reason touchscreen doesn't work is because the new case is pressing on some place in the touchscreen.
I suggest you take a good look and trim any edges that might be pressing against the corners of the screen.

Hi there guys,
Some good news to report... i got everything working except the external speaker... i'm not sure where i went wrong here... but it looks like everything is touching the mainboard as it should be. Any suggestions?

The speaker is round and the two metal peices sticking out can be placed in more than one way, try rotating it so that it faces the other way and it might work.
