Hi everyone i went to reinstall my pc back to factory default with the restore disc and i get this message when i press the R for restore button:

This system is not compatible with this reload process request reload version -6.00

I have the 0.3 version which was the second to last version to be made and i have used it before on the same pc without any problems.

My pc is full of crap, has viruses and is very slow, since my mum has been using it.

What do i do if the reload disc wont work.

I have run avg anti virus and spybot search and destroy but i get 2 problems and 3 viruses that cannot be healed because there in the memory or something, so restore is my only option really.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Does this messages appears when you insert the disc with Windows already loaded or does this happen when you boot from the cd?

When i boot from the cd. I try going to my computer to open but the disc but the files must be hidden and nothing appears. So i put the disc in and then restarted it that way.

I found a copy of xp pro so i thought i would install that again.

I wanted to do a clean install of windows but was unsure about deleting partions etc to do a clean install etc so i asked it to repair windows it did but it is still the same, now it says avg anti virus is damaged and i still get loads of pop ups and error messages.

The thing is buggered!!!

I'D format everything... find out teh model numbe rof your Hdd, go on their website and download a deep formatting program (its dif for evry dif make)... this will basically clear everything, back to factory settings...... dont simply rely on windows xp disk to format it as it wont do a full format and teh prob may return.....

If you post your Hdd model on here asap, i will have a look for you but im off at 5:00 so hurry, (lol)

Also post teh manufacturer

its been a while since i ve done a clean install. but doesnt xp offer the option when you boot from the cd to format the hard drive both a quick and a full format.
if so just going into the bios and set the comp to boot from cd make sure the xp cd is in and follow the instructions
