I have found out today that Carphone Warehouses insurance people, Lifeline, have been taking money for insurance policies on phones that had their contracts cancelled ages ago. I know that it can be partly blamed on me as I should have checked my bank statements more regularly but when I cancelled both contracts Carphone Warehouse phone staff assured me that when the contract is cancelled so is the insurance. It appears that they lied. So they have been taking £26.75 every quarter when they shouldnt have.

The moral of the story is:
"When you cancle a contract contact the insurance people as well".

vodafone's the same when you cancel the contract the insurance ends as well, moral of the store always go to the networks direct, it maybe more expensive but it makes things much easier

You have to tell the insurance company if you aren't using the handset any more. The insurance is for the handset, you can cancel the contract and still use the phone, they aren't to know if it is not in use till you tell them.

If the staff told you it would be cancelled, you should take it up with them and get them to sort a refund from NTI (the underwriters).
