if you got a lady friend then id say:

Ann frank house...
candle light river canel boat ride....
cannibis museum......
sex museum..... (not dirty... its a laugh, i went with my misses last year)....
ape zoo (now this is teh thing i recommend mostly... i went to this place all day mate, the litterally ahve monkeys running around teh park, around your feet... you can grab one if you like lol...... honestly now, this is the best thing there - wicked place and dirt cheap (like a £5-£10 entrance).......

and have chips with tomato sauce and mayo (its a amsterdam special

Cheers mate,

Monkeys are cool. Got attaked by one in Gibraltar in the beginning of the year. Brilliant.

when you going....... the ann frank thing was a great hit with teh misses... although it werent really my cup of tea... i mean, tbh, i through she was some kind of prostute (following teh red light theme of amsterdam), how wrong was i... lol, but very interesting none the less... incase youre like me and dont know who she is, just google it, you'll find out then...

have a great trip

Some cool souvenir shops around Dam Square, selling all the usual paraphanalia, clogs etc.
Oh, and don't even think about walking through or in the bicycle lanes along the roads...this seems to be a cardinal sin/ offence to Amsterdam cyclists!
And after over-indulging somewhat, it was a challenge to cross some of the busier streets, with all the trams, cars and cyclists...
Enjoy

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm off tomorrow morning for 2 nights courtesy of a well known mobile manufacturer. (they shall remain un-named)

I'll check out some of your suggestions.

Thanks again!

The Van Gogh museum, The Rijksmuseum (the national collection) and the Stedelijk (Museum of Modern Art) are all world class and worth visiting if that's your thing.

Anne Frank House
The Verzetsmuseum (WW2 Reisitance Museum)

Amsterdam is a great city.
