i've got a number for an email gateway but never used it in the T68 til just now to test for you...works as follows:
make sure you have your own email address against your name in the phone book.
Messages, SMS, Options, E-mail gateways, Add new?
- enter +447815088091
Messages, SMS, Options, SMS type
- change E-mail
now write an SMS and find your name in the phone book to send your test message...email will be sent to recipients email address with your mobile number appearing in the 'From' and 'Short Message' in the Subject field.

The gateway depends on the carrier. Here in the US the gateway is "500" for T-Mobile. Just change your SMS Type (if available, I lost my menu with the firmware upgrade ><) to "Select on send" or "e-mail" and it'll prompt you for an e-mail address to send the message to.
