I have a mild stammer which was bad when I was at school. Its so frustrating because it can really hold you back and prevent you doing the things you want to do. I really felt for those guys. This message was posted from a S700

fair play axxxr... i have this problem too and used to be as bad as some of those people on the program. Does your brother prefer you to finish his sentances... it never bothered me atall unless someone got fustrated with me and tried to make me rush...... Is he getting over it or getting worse? Mate if im asking too personal questions, tell me to bugger off, its ok

I really felt sorry for them, it was tragic. I shall now watch Open All Hours with a more open mind.

Well when he was younger he did'nt like me butting in to finish what he was trying to say,but later on as got older he kind appreciated it,and now he just takes it as normal for me to finish the sentence for him...His stammering has improved a little over the years but at times he still stammers quite bad like some of those guys in the programme last night..and don't worry i don't mind you asking me at all,if their is anything else you want to know then by all means, your very welcome to ask.

I did meet this guy last year while i was away working down south,he must have been in his late 60's,before he started talking to me he said \"If I get stuck on a sentence or word please don't interupt\"i was a bit puzzled at first i said fine, then he stared introducing himself by his full name, occupation, told me he was in the Army for a number of years ect,i presume you know where im going with this?..anyway he must have been talking for a good 10 mins without a break, and in the end he said:I used to serverly stammer for most of my life but i have finally managed to cure it...I was gobsmacked because he to me spoke to me like any normal person would, then he went on about telling me how he had been all around the world trying to find a cure for his stammering problem,in the end he said its all in the mind, and about practice...did'nt know what he quite meant by that though.
