who has the best plans right now? most people i know have cingulat, so i would have free mobile to mobile. but im on nextel, and im paying $50 for 300 minutes (with free incoming, and nights and weekends), but idk with all the extra charges i have been being charged, im not sure i want to stay with nextel.

does anyone know how nextel is with ending contracts early? what do they charge? IDK what to do.

I recommend T-Mobile. I've been with them for years, and have had no major problems.
I have the Get more 600 min. plan.

u heard tmobile doesnt have very good coverage, and looking on their map, it doesnt look like they really do.

it says your from central US, i dont see good coverage over there, but i dont know for a fact. how about your personal opinion on the coverage?? do you get good reception?

I get fine reception here in Oklahoma City. No dropped calls or anything, but I live in the metro area, I don't go out in the boonies very often.

From time to time I travel back and forth from Tulsa, and on I-44 between here and Tulsa is kind of spotty, but with a little patience, the signal comes right back.

I've also regularly spend some time in Las Vegas, and there's no problems in and around that area.

From what I understand, since the GSM system has not been around for that long, there's not nearly the coverage as the older systems, like TDMA, CDMA, or AMPS (if that even exists anymore). But I would guess that GSM coverage will get greater as time goes on.

Cingular might have greater coverage, since they still use the 850 Mhz freq. in some areas, but I don't know much about that. I believe Tmobile is exclusively 1900 Mhz. But if you had a phone that has 850, one could I guess roam on Cingulars network wherever Tmobiles 1900 dosent cover.

Maybe a Cingular customer can jump in here and let you know about how there service does, but in my opinion, for use in a major metro area on a daily basis, Tmobile will not be a problem.

t-mob has all majior metros covered and main roadways, I live on the northeast coasy (philly metro market) and my service is fine, get into rural areas to far from a majior road and coverage is spotty... it depends on where you live, Cingulars gsm coverage is spotty around my area, but I heard its great on the westcoast

I'm with Tmobile and do quite a bit of travel around the US. I haven't had any problems in major markets or on the road. The cingular and tmobile networks are now meshed, so if you have a quad band phone, you get the benefits of both networks. Tmobile has the best plans though, hands down. Texas coverage is the best.
