I know it has been mentioned before that when you fit the cam to T68 and press * # *# you get the camera's software version.
My T68i version is R2B025
At the bottom of communicam says R2A
When I plug cam into phone (*#*#) says R1B
Is there a way to uggrade the camera's software version, so getting better pictures or a better compression?

The version number on the bottom of the cam is the hardware version.
Lastest firmware for MCA-20 is R2A. I'm not sure what the differences are, but I doubt you will get better pictures and better compression.. to get it updated you need to bring it to a servicepoint.

I recently upgraded my T68i to R5D007. At the service point told me that they don't know anything about camera's software upgrade. Any help? does anyone else did the upgrade?

not many servicepoints know they can update the firmware in the camera... but to update it they need a special cable.
